Yoga Instructor
Rebecca began practicing Bikram Yoga in 2002 at the Atlanta studio owned by Cristina Rey and Jason Ewing. After taking a few yoga classes at the gym at CNN Center, where she worked, she ordered Bikram's book and decided to give the hot room a try. She immediately loved the heated room and enjoyed the structure of the class -- practicing the same postures in the same order every time. She also discovered that practicing yoga was the only thing that provided her relief from the chronic back pain she suffered as a result of injuries sustained in auto and mountain biking accidents.
Quitting her corporate job to study yoga with Bikram and Rajashree Choudhury was a rewarding and life changing decision. Rebecca considers it an honor and privilege to share the practice of yoga with others -- both as a teacher and a student. When she's not at the studio, she likes to be outside as much as possible -- mountain biking, kayaking, hiking or just hanging out at the park with her dog, Layla. In addition to practicing and teaching Bikram Yoga, she also has a regular Taoist meditation practice. Rebecca believes that practicing yoga and meditation contributes greatly to healing oneself and healing the world. She teaches that taking good care of yourself is one of the best things that you can do to change the world. When you take good care of yourself, you can give so much more to everyone else in your life.
Rebecca graduated from Bikram's Yoga College of India teacher training in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2007, and was re-certified at Bikram's Advanced Seminar in Barcelona, Spain in 2010. In 2009, Rebecca represented the State of Georgia at the United States Yoga Asana Championship in Los Angeles, California. Rebecca regularly teaches at Bikram Yoga Marietta, Bikram Yoga Decatur, and substitute teaches at the other Bikram Yoga studios in the Atlanta area.
